Kinsa is recruiting for a: Food Safety and Quality Supervisor – 3RD SHIFT
Location: Green Bay, WI (On-site)
Our client is the nation’s largest co-manufacturer of fully cooked sausage and hot dogs. They produce 15% of the fully cooked sausage in the United States, serving the world’s most trusted brands and retailers by operating a co-extrusion, cook-in-package process that produces delicious, clean label, food-safe products that help grow and protect these brand partners.
The Food Safety and Quality Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the activities of the QA Technicians assigned to the shift. They will monitor product quality attributes; apply and maintain quality specifications; conduct statistical analyses of quality and process data; evaluates trends; and recommend process changes. They will also oversee inspections and ensure compliance with USDA regulations, company programs and policies, and SQF requirements.
Candidates MUST HAVE 3+ years of previous Quality Assurance experience in a USDA-FSIS-regulated food manufacturing environment!
(HACCP Certification and SQF Practitioner Certification HIGHLY preferred!
3rd Shift: 9:30PM – 6:30AM M-F (some weekend work may be needed on occasion)
Compensation/Benefits:
- $60K – 65K + BOE (Additional Annual Bonus as well)

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Manage the daily activities of QA Techs on shift; prepare schedules, assign work, and oversee projects.
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance personnel to ensure food safety and quality requirements are met and to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Establish and audit processes to ensure that customer requirements and product specifications are met; review nonconformance issues, conduct root-cause analysis, determine appropriate corrective actions and preventive measures, and assess effectiveness of preventive measures over time.
- Coordinate and participate in internal quality audits.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- 3+ years of previous Quality Assurance experience in a USDA-FSIS-regulated food mfg. company
- Associate degree in quality, Food Science or a related field or Bachelor’s degree is HIGHLY preferred.
- Previous leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems, including Global Food Safety Initiative standards (e.g. SQF) and experience applying root-cause problem solving and other quality methodologies.
- Knowledge of USDA-FSIS regulations for fully cooked meat & poultry sausage products is required.
