Kinsa is recruiting for a:  Quality / Food Safety Manager – Food Manufacturing
Location: NE NJ / NY Metro Area (Onsite Monday – Friday)

LOCAL ONLY – Must be permanently authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

The mission of the Quality/Food Safety Manager is to provide strong leadership and guidance for quality control, sanitation, plant staff, and visitors. This role involves overseeing the implementation of quality assurance policies and programs within the manufacturing operations, as well as managing HAACP, product hold and recall programs, internal and external audits, and ensuring food safety compliance. The manager will work closely with a team of 10-15 direct and indirect reports.

Successful candidates MUST HAVE 3-5 years of FDA Quality and Food Safety leadership experience within a similar food manufacturing setting.

Compensation/Benefits:                                                                         

  • $100,000 – $115,000 BOE
  • +10% bonus potential

Key Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Implement quality policies and programs to ensure food safety and compliance with company standards, GFSI, and Federal and State regulations.
  • Establish quality goals and objectives that align with company policies and overall goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the plant and regulatory agencies (USDA, FDA, auditors, etc.).
  • Manage the sanitation program to ensure food safety and adherence to company, GFSI, and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise 2 Supervisors and 2 full-time QC employees, providing training, coaching, discipline, recognition, and leadership as needed.
  • Develop and oversee the QC and sanitation budgets.

Key Competencies for Success:

  • 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing operations and/or quality control in food processing.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles, TQM, computer systems, production processes, and equipment used in the food industry.
  • HACCP or PCQI certification required. USDA experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time, Monday through Friday.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
