R&D Director – Bakery

Kinsa is recruiting for a: Director of R&D – Bakery Products
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Not a remote or Hybrid position)

Mission: 
Our client, a producer of premium baked goods products, is looking for an R&D Director to add to their team. In this role you will be responsible for driving the development of new products, implementing innovative material and optimizing processes to enhance product offerings to maintain the company’s competitive edge.
Successful candidates MUST HAVE experience in a food processing plant environment (and/or other singular qualifier under Competencies/Culture below).

Compensation/Benefits:                    
Compensation: 150-160k with additional bonus opportunities

What you’ll be responsible for: 
Lead the R&D Department
Aid in developing fast paced / urgent work environment in bakery, sales team and department
Manage new product development projects from stage-gate to commercialization
Monitor the Market for new seasonal items
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments
Lead and develop internal teams
Supervisor new production and trial runs
Maintain all data on ERP System

Competencies/Culture:    
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field (Master Baker MUST)
5+ Years of Sr. R&D leadership experience in a food processing environment
Experienced in the baked goods category
Experienced in product development and commercialization
Experience  with food safety regulations, quality standards and best practices
Experience with budget management
