Kinsa is recruiting for a: Engineering Manager / Frozen Foods
Location: South Dakota (Onsite)
Our client is a successful and established frozen food manufacturer based in South Dakota. The mission for the Engineering Manager is to ensure operational excellence in Engineering and Technical services. You will have responsibility for planning all projects, improving productivity, and minimizing operational costs. Safety, quality, and regulatory compliance are of the utmost importance for this high growth company.
- Successful candidates MUST HAVE 7 years of plant level management experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Compensation/Benefits:
- $140,000 – $150,000 compensation range
- 15% bonus

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Ensure operational excellence by adherence to GMPs, communication with all team members, accurate reporting and correction of issues, and successful completion of all projects and duties.
- Establish and implement training programs and KPIs with regular employee evaluations.
- Schedule preventative maintenance procedures and make sure that the work and processes are completed on schedule.
- Safety and Environmental compliance, report and perform regular inspections and checks.
- Ensures mechanical and electrical expertise is available to production and other departments to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
- Provide Continuous Improvement support through ensuring overall equipment effectiveness and reliability.
- Strictly manage maintenance budget with an emphasis on cost savings and adjusts according to needs.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- 7 years of experience working in a leadership role in a plant environment.
- Out-of-the-box thinker, with the ability to generate unique ideas and concepts to solve problems.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of technical resources. Must be willing to lead by example – willing to participate with the team and contribute at every level.
- Experience with 2D and 3D / CAD software.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office software to create and manage advanced spreadsheets, technical documents, and technical presentations. Experience with ERP/MRP software.
