Kinsa is recruiting for a: R&D Project Manager (Food Ingredients)
Location: Kansas, USA
Position Purpose:
As an R&D Project Manager specializing in food ingredient manufacturing, you will play a pivotal role in developing and improving the company’s product portfolio. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around researching, designing, and implementing innovative solutions for company products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Operations and Sales, to drive product development initiatives from concept to commercialization.
Must Have:
Successful candidates must have at least 5 years of technical experience with protein ingredients.
Compensation/Benefits:
- $125,000 – $150,000 base salary

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Conduct thorough research on emerging technologies, ingredients, and processing techniques in protein product development. Utilize insights to conceptualize and develop new products or improve existing ones.
- Ensures alignment with manufacturing post-commercialization.
- Active participant in all R&D duties throughout product lifecycle which also includes concept development, initial evaluation, plant trial testing, cross functional product cuttings and communication, sensory testing, shelf life.
- Coordinates major investment projects. Participates in the development of the opportunity pipeline.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- BS degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Biosystems Engineering.
- R&D experience required – a minimum of 5 years, preferably 10 years.
- Experience with new product development and commercialization.
- Experience with proteins. Wheat protein experience preferred.
- Experience with Isolate, Concentrate, Texturized and other value-added protein products preferred.
- Solid understanding of protein chemistry and how physical and chemical changes impact functionality in end applications.
- Open to travel 40-50%
