Kinsa is recruiting for a Regional Food Service Sales Manager
Location: South Florida (Remote with travel)
Our client serves both food service and wholesale retail, specializing in frozen tropical products. Family owned and operated, they are innovators and pioneers, offering frozen plantains, boniato, sweet potato, yuca, pineapple, papaya and other tropical specialties. They are looking to add a Regional Sales Manager to their team, focusing on the southern half of Florida. You will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining strong business relationships by identifying new business opportunities by prospecting potential customers & converting them into new customers, and by executing customer-specific growth plans for existing accounts. Your primary focus and expertise will be the food service industry.

  • 5+ years of selling food/beverage to food service, including managing brokers & distributors. Fluently bilingual: English & Spanish. OK with up to 75% travel.

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

  • Nurture and grow the customer base while overseeing regional sales managers and brokers.
  • Conduct oversight of brokers and distributors: evaluate performance and implement necessary actions.
  • Achieves sales goals by recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, advising, and disciplining team members.
  • Provide valuable sales insights and recommendations for strategic planning and assessments.
  • Address issues, conduct audits, identify trends, assess potential improvements in the regional sales system, and execute changes as required.
  • Predict operational needs, prepare an annual budget, manage expenditures, analyze discrepancies, and initiate corrective measures to prevent sales losses and mitigate competitive risks.
  • Suggest product lines by spotting new opportunities, surveying customer needs and trends, and monitoring competitors.
  • Engage with customers to understand their evolving requirements and evaluate the quality of the relationship with the company. Facilitate formal meetings to present company products to key clients.
  • Support sales associates to help them generate leads and close new business.
  • Design and oversee cross-selling initiatives, ensuring their effectiveness by guiding regional teams and brokers.
  • Develop and assess both long- and short-term sales strategies to maximize regional sales performance.
  • Explores and analyzes opportunities for brand and product expansion.
  • Stay informed about economic indicators, market shifts, supply and demand dynamics, and competitors to sustain sales and product mix.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various negotiation and selling channels, including in-person, phone, video calls, text, and email.
  • Utilize analytical skills to interpret, consolidate, and summarize large volumes of data into actionable insights for driving sales and brand development.
  • Represent the company and its brands professionally at trade shows and food exhibitions.
  • Communicate updates, changes, or customer-related concerns to relevant internal teams to ensure optimal planning and enhance the customer experience.
  • Become expert about all company products, staying updated on existing product enhancements as well as new offerings.
  • Conduct cost and pricing analyses.
  • Prepare sales reports and presentations that highlight sales volume, trends, gaps, opportunities, and outcomes.

Competencies Needed for Success:

  • Fluently bilingual: Spanish and Englsh.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, college preferred.
  • 5+ Years of food service sales experience.
  • Previous sales management experience.
  • Consistent track record of success in growing brands and/or businesses.
  • 60%-75% travel required (auto and air).
