Kinsa is recruiting for a Senior QA Manager
Location: Appleton, WI (Onsite, relocation assistance provided
Our client is a holding company representing some of the country’s top fermented food brands. Their popular, healthy foods are a staple in many households! They are looking to add a skilled and dynamic leader to head up their food safety & quality initiatives.  You will work closely with the top executives of the company. This position offers great growth opportunities for the right candidate!

  • Relevant college degree. 10+ years in FSQA. Management experience.

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

  • Design, implement, and manage quality assurance procedures and programs.
  • Manage external audits and inspections.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of food safety and quality regulations.
  • Develop and implement HACCP plans, GMP guidelines, and SOPs.
  • Monitor and report on quality performance metrics.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to support Customer Visits.
  • Prepare and present reports on QA performance and compliance status.
  • Ensure documentation complies with regulatory requirements and company policies. Develop and maintain supplier quality assurance programs.

Competencies Needed for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality management. Fresh produce and or fermentation experience preferred.
  • Management experience (direct reports)
  • Preferred certifications: HACCP, SQF and/or BRC
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FSMA, GFSI).
  • Multiple plant oversight is a plus.
  • Ability to help commercialize new products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and software.
