Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite)

Our client is an Asian based Grocery Store chain in the greater Salt Lake City, UT area. The mission for the Grocery Manager is to oversee the entire sales floor, ensure efficient department operations, and maintain comprehensive knowledge of ethnic foods from various cultures. You will showcase a deep understanding of multiple cultures, while exemplifying strong leadership skills, a passion for growing the business, and commitment to long-term growth.

• Successful candidates MUST HAVE 5 years of experience in Asian or ethnic grocery market management.

Compensation/Benefits:                                                                         

• $70,000 – $85,000 base salary range

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

• Oversee daily operations, including product preparation, display, and inventory control, to optimize efficiency and increase product visibility.
• Drive sales to achieve margin targets, manage labor costs, stock loss, and meet company financial projections.
• Maintain attractive product displays with proper signage, collaborate on promotional initiatives, and ensure accurate shelf tags.
• Foster a customer-first environment by addressing customer feedback and improving service quality. Ensure staff provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. Safeguard department assets and monitor adherence to internal policies.
• Supervise, mentor, and schedule staff, providing feedback for growth and development. Manage training, hiring, and performance reviews.
• Oversee product ordering, receiving, and distribution, ensuring that all products meet quality standards.
• Plan and execute promotions, prepare appropriate products for demos, and set competitive prices.

Competencies Needed for Success:                                                                                   

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role at an ethnic supermarket.
• Preferred Bilingual Abilities: English & Chinese or another Asian language.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Extensive knowledge of grocery products, particularly ethnic foods from various cultures.
• Proven track record of driving sales and improving department performance.
• Proficient with computer programs for inventory management, sales tracking, and reporting.
