Kinsa is recruiting for a: National Business Development Manager (Grocery / Distributor Food Sales)
Location: NE / NY Metro Area Highly preferred (remote / 60% travel)
Our client is a full-service distributor offering a diverse selection of over 1,400 products across grocery, frozen foods, dairy, and beverages. Originally, the company began with a modest lineup of essential items such as rice, salted fish, flour, and some produce. Over the past 95 years, they have expanded their offerings to include a wide variety of beverages, sauces, vegetables, beans, canned meats and fish, frozen meats, soups, coconut products and more. Today, they proudly represent leading food brands from the Caribbean, Central America, South America, and Europe.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for overseeing and developing the strategic network of Distributors across the USA employing a wide range of marketing and sales-related initiatives. The position links business development, finance, sales, and marketing to help identify opportunities to drive business growth. It offers a unique and distinctive opportunity to tackle significant business issues, lead and support cross-functional projects, and interact directly with senior leadership teams.
Successful candidates MUST HAVE 5 years+ grocery / distributor food sales experience with a large portfolio of products, experience managing distributors and accounts nationwide, and strong knowledge of the Hispanic food market & community.
Compensation/Benefits:
- $110,000 – $125,000 base salary compensation range + bonus structure
- 20% bonus potential paid out monthly based on performance

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Achieve revenue and margin targets within assigned territories and channels.
- Expand distribution and drive growth in the assigned territories.
- Launch and promote new products in the market.
- Maintain and manage sales pipeline to meet quotas.
- Develop joint business plans with distributors and review performance quarterly.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts to support demand planning.
- Manage distributor network, overseeing brand development and marketing efforts.
- Build relationships with key retailers and lead brand-building promotions in the channels.
- Regularly assess distributor effectiveness and execution.
- Conduct market, competitive, and financial analysis to inform strategy.
- Maintain strong relationships with key retail chains that influence distributor performance.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- 5+ years of experience in sales, marketing or project/program management
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
- Bi-lingual preferred but not required (Spanish/English)
- Experience managing distributors and accounts nationwide
- Knowledge of the Hispanic / Caribbean food market & community
- Presents well, sharp mind, and very strong strategic thinker
- Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy
- Ability to travel to accounts and for meetings (about 60% travel)
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
