Kinsa is recruiting for a: FSQA Manager / Fresh Food Production
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite)
Our client is a Mexican Café restaurant chain based in Salt Lake City, UT. The mission for the FSQA Manager is to oversee all aspects of food safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance. The primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance and safety in the client’s central food production facility. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the company’s products and ensuring the health and safety of consumers
- Successful candidates MUST HAVE 5 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance within the food manufacturing or processing industry.
Compensation/Benefits:
- $115,000 – $125,000 base salary range
- 10% bonus potential and Equity eligible

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Ensure all food products comply with USDA/FDA standards and regulations (including FSIS regulations).
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive food safety programs, including HACCP, GMPs, FSMA requirements, and other industry best practices
- Lead internal audits, inspections, and third-party audits, ensuring the facility meets or exceeds food safety and quality standards set by USDA, FDA, FSIS, and other relevant agencies.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential food safety risks in the manufacturing process, create and implement effective mitigation strategies, and monitor outcomes
- Conduct routine quality control checks to monitor product consistency, packaging integrity, and labeling accuracy.
- Mentor and train onsite QA team members in the Company’s food production facility.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date food safety documentation, reports, and records. Ensure all corrective actions and preventive measures are properly recorded and followed up on.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety, product quality, and process efficiency.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance within the food manufacturing or processing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, including FSMA, USDA, FDA, FSIS, SQF, BRC, and GFSI standards.
- Prior experience managing food safety and QA teams in a USDA-regulated environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Certifications such as HACCP certification, SQF Practitioner, or ISO 22000 a plus.
