Kinsa is recruiting for a: Chief Manufacturing Officer (Frozen Food Manufacturing)
Location: (Hybrid) Home Office with 50% travel to SD.
Our client specializes in frozen food products that are sold in major retailers all across the United States. The CMO plays a key leadership role in ensuring that manufacturing processes meet company objectives while aligning with budgetary and strategic goals. This executive will lead the production, quality control, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations, driving operational excellence in all aspects of manufacturing.
Compensation/Benefits:
- $275,000 – $300,000 base salary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-term strategies to optimize the manufacturing process, ensuring scalability and sustainability in line with company growth objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee all plant operations, production planning, and process improvements to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cost-efficiency.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with five Senior Leadership Team members in Supply Chain, R+D, Finance, Sales and Marketing, and People and Culture to ensure manufacturing capabilities align with business needs and product development timelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives for lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance productivity.
- Safety and Quality: Ensure that all manufacturing operations adhere to local, state, and federal safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Cost Management: Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, implementing cost-control measures to improve profitability without compromising on quality or safety.
- Capital Projects: Understand and own all operational capital projects from end to end. Stay ahead of manufacturing trends, adopting new technologies and processes to maintain competitive advantages in production techniques and output.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Knowledge of USDA regulatory requirements and quality standards within the industry.
- Experience in scaling manufacturing operations to support rapid company growth.
- Highly collaborative — demonstrated ability to share knowledge and information at different levels of the organization, contributing to a team that is always raising the bar for excellence and innovation.
- Work well with other cross-functional partners, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and ambition to every task.
- Ability to utilize independent judgment in establishing the accuracy and reliability of information.
