Kinsa is recruiting for a: Safety Manager
Location: Burlington, WI (Onsite – relocation assistance available)
Our client provides exceptional food products that inspire and delight. They are committed to crafting the highest quality breakfast items, from farm-fresh eggs to mouthwatering pancakes and more. They are looking to add a Safety Manager to their team near Racine, WI. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance and safety for all ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Relevant college degree preferred. 3+ years ammonia refrigeration safety and compliance experience required. OSHA, HAZMAT & PSM expertise and/or certifications.

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Organize and maintain the Process Safety Management (PSM) program for ammonia refrigeration systems, equipment and personnel.
- Ensure the facilities are in compliance with all federal/state/local regulations and enviroenmental guidelines involving anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Coordinate, organize and provide PSM mandated programs, exercises & training to all associates/contractors Review and assist with change, pre-start up safety reviews, and process hazard analysis.
- Review all refrigeration action plans for ammonia related projects for compliance and viability. In the event of an PSM audit, PSM Manager will serve as the primary respondent.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- BS in Engineering (industrial, mechanical, chemical) or extensive ammonia refrigeration experience
- Expert knowledge and/or certifications for OSHA, PSM, HAZMAT. Incident investigation experience.
- 3+ years in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment, 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Prior experience with Process Safety Management systems associated with ammonia refrigeration
- Proficient with autocad & other mechanical and electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Ability to understand complex regulatory requirements.
