Kinsa is recruiting for a: Production Manager – Food Manufacturing
Location: Frederick County, Maryland (On-Site)
Our client is a family-owned bread manufacturer that has been providing innovative products and superior freshness in quality for over 30 years! The Production Manager will supervise and direct all aspects of production within the facility, ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost-effective manufacturing of baked goods.
They will have responsibility for leading a large team of production workers, overseeing equipment maintenance, managing production schedules, optimizing processes, ensuring product quality, and enforces compliance with health and safety regulations. This role demands strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of bakery production systems.
Successful candidates MUST HAVE 5+ years of Production Management experience in a food manufacturing environment AND MUST be permanently authorized to work in the U.S!
Compensation/Benefits:
- $120,000 – $140,000 base salary compensation range BOE

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Production Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with the Operations Coordinator to create and implement production plans, ensuring goals for quantity, quality, and delivery are met.
- Team Leadership & Management: Lead and motivate production staff, provide training, manage schedules, and promote a safe, positive work environment.
- Process Optimization: Continuously improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and troubleshoot problems to maintain smooth workflows.
- Quality Control: Monitor product quality to meet specifications, collaborate with quality teams, and address any customer complaints.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation regulations are followed, and conduct regular safety training.
- Equipment & Maintenance: Oversee equipment operation and maintenance, work with the maintenance team to minimize downtime, and ensure cleanliness standards are met.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- Production Management experience in a food manufacturing facility (5+ years)
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Ability to effectively lead 5 indirect reports and 100+ indirect reports
- Experience in high-volume bakery production is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, capable of motivating a diverse workforce.
- Deep knowledge of bakery production, ingredients, and quality standards.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
