Kinsa is recruiting for a Regional Salest Manager
Location: Mississauga, Canada

Our client is global manufacturer of pet food with a long history of delighting dogs and cats. Their US division is looking for a Regional Manager, based out of their Mississauga office but serving all of Canada. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate all sales activities in your assigned region. You will research and prospect new business with retailers and distributors, and maintain excellent service with existing accounts while expanding business.

  • College degree required. 3+ years of sales experience, to retailers and distributors. Pet food experience HIGHLY preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing grocery chains, distributors and specialized channels.
  • Drive market strategies and brand awareness to increase sales growth and profits.
  • Build and maintain a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads. Close new sales by building rapport with potential accounts and identifying needs.
  • Negotiate profitable pricing and/or terms of sales.
  • Provide and report sales forecasts, results, and the status of accounts and leads for the region or division.
  • Manage and train local and regional sales teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience selling food to retailers & working with distributors. Pet food experience HIGHLY preferred. Strong understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior in the pet food category.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French required.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills, with proven negotiation skills. A strong history of building business relationships with customers. A track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Willingness to travel daily or weekly, spend most of the day in a vehicle and fly as necessary. Must hold an unrestricted driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement regional sales plans and strategies.
  • Experience mentoring and leading a high-performing sales team.
