Kinsa is recruiting for a:  Lab Manager / Food & Beverage        
                                 

Location: Greater Phoenix, AZ area (Onsite)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lab Manager to lead laboratory operations in a high-speed food and beverage manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all laboratory testing while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will ensure quality while overseeing a team and enabling them to grow professionally.

Compensation/Benefits:                                                                         

  • $110,000 – $135,000 compensation range

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing lab team through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Oversee all daily lab operations including sample testing for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), HACCP, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, FSMA).
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment; manage inventory and cost controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
  • Prepare the lab for audits and serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and customer inspections.
  • Collaborate with production, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to resolve issues and support plant goals.
  • Lead the lab’s involvement in corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis and quality reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in laboratory operations within food, beverage, or a related industry.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large technical teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of GLP, HACCP, SPC, and quality management systems.
  • Skilled in laboratory instrumentation, testing protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or ERP systems is a plus.
