Kinsa is recruiting for a:  R&D Technician / Ingredients  
                                     

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Onsite)

Our client is an ingredients and seasonings food manufacturer based in the greater Los Angeles, CA area. The mission for the R&D Technician is to use strong creative instincts and experience to learn both dry and liquid blending of seasoning product development. This person will be responsible for maintaining the R&D lab, assisting in product development, and formulating recipes. You will be a part of a team that generates innovative and new product ideas and recipes.

  • Successful candidates MUST HAVE 1-2 years of experience in a research and development technician role in the food and beverage industry.

Compensation/Benefits:                                                       

  • $65,000 – $70,000 base salary

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

  • High capacity to learn both dry and liquid blending and formulations.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram forms.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills with logic and assess critical information to make effective decisions or recommendations.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment of changing priorities, multiple projects, and short deadlines..
  • Assist in sample making for sales presentations.
  • Organize/maintain R&D lab in good/clean condition, acquire new raw materials, and manage inventory.
  • Formulate Gold Standard recipes and set target standards, working alongside Operations, Purchasing, and Regulatory to ensure best practice toward scale-up and execution.

Competencies Needed for Success:                                                                           

  • 1-2 years of experience as R&D Tech in food product development
  • Creative and innovative attitude
  • Critical thinking and ability to learn in a face paced environment
  • Ability to work onsite Mon – Fri
  • Degree in Food Science or related field
