Kinsa is recruiting for a:  Quality Assurance Manager / Food Products
Location: Seattle, WA area (Not a hybrid or remote)

Mission:
Our client, a producer of premium food products, is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to add to their team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing leadership for safe Quality Food (SQF) through programs and systems that protect consumers, customers, and our brands.

Successful candidates MUST HAVE experience in a food processing plant environment (and/or other singular qualifier under Competencies/Culture below).

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Create and execute Individual Development Programs for quality department employees.
  • Deploys strategic goals and objectives into operational plans and improvement projects.
  • Lead labeling team, ensuring that finished labels are printed and ready for operations.
  • Analyze statistical data and compliance audit results to identify improvement opportunities
  • Conducts hazard assessments and risk analysis and track effective closure of corrective actions.
  • Facilitates process management/lean manufacturing approaches with a quality principled focus.
  • Drive process quality and supplier quality using the appropriate technology and business tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP and SPC.
  • Partners with strategic supply group on supplier management and development.
  • Maintains Key Performance Indicators (KPI) on the results of operating systems and business execution (external warranty, internal PPM, etc.).
  • Facilitates Quality Alert (QAL) and Corrective Action Request (CAR) system and associated Quality Improvement Team (QIT) process to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Maintains SQF systems and HACCP plans including all documentation
  • Internal and external auditing

Competencies/Culture:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, food science or related field
  • 10+ Years of progressive QA leadership experience in a food processing environment
  • Experience implementing and maintaining SQF
  • Experience with HACCP, USDA, FDA, etc.
  • Experience with internal and 3rd party auditing
  • Ability to travel to the other facilities
