Kinsa is recruiting for a:  Process/Chemical Engineer – Vitamins/Supplements  
 

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite)

Our client is an innovative contract manufacturer specializing in functional and candy-style gummy supplements. This Process Engineer will be the technical lead for scaling new vitamin gummy formulas, optimizing process parameters, and supporting continuous improvement. You will bridge R&D, QA, and operations.

  • MUST HAVE 3+ years of experience in food, confectionary, or supplement manufacturing and scale up, with understanding of heating and vacuum equipment.

Compensation/Benefits:                                                                         

  • $110,000 – $129,000 compensation range

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

  • Lead scale-up of vitamin/gummy formulations from benchtop to full-scale production using Hänsel and WDS equipment.
  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and throughput.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to ingredient thermal sensitivity, demolding, and consistency.
  • Create and maintain detailed SOPs and batch records for Hänsel Thermograv, Rotomat, and JellyBlend systems.
  • Train and support production teams on safe and efficient use of specialized confectionery equipment.
  • Collaborate with R&D to refine formulations and ensure proper integration into scaled processes.

Competencies Needed for Success:                                                                                   

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Science, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years in food/supplement or confectionery scale-up and production.
  • Hands-on experience with Hänsel and WDS equipment strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of pectin/gelatin systems and handling heat-sensitive actives like creatine, vitamins, and amino acids.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA CFR 111 & 117, HACCP, and SQF.
