Job Title: Director of Coffee Operations
Location: Kansas City, MO (Onsite)

Mission of the Role:
The Director of Coffee Operations will be a strategic and visionary leader responsible for overseeing all facets of coffee manufacturing—from sourcing and roasting to packaging, quality assurance, and supply chain integration. This individual will drive operational excellence, champion innovation, and lead cross-functional teams to scale processes and elevate product quality in alignment with the company’s mission of delivering exceptional coffee.


Compensation/Benefits:                                                                         

  • $150,000 – $170,000 base salary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Set and execute long-term strategies for coffee roasting, blending, packaging, and customer execution. Partner with senior leadership to align operations with broader organizational goals.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day production, optimize workflows, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure consistent product quality.

  • Systems Integration: Implement advanced costing systems, lead MRP deployment, integrate OEM systems, and evaluate ERP solutions to streamline manufacturing and boost scalability.

  • Quality Assurance: Elevate standards across all coffee operations and partner with R&D to develop and launch innovative coffee products that meet compliance and sustainability benchmarks.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and executive leadership to align production with customer expectations and brand vision.

  • People Leadership: Develop and inspire a high-performing team, manage hiring and training, and build a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.

  • Financial Oversight: Manage department budgets, monitor KPIs, and implement cost optimization strategies to ensure profitability and fiscal discipline.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in coffee operations, roasting, or a similar manufacturing environment.

  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role with demonstrated success in scaling operations and driving efficiency.

  • Expertise in MRP systems, ERP integration, system costing, and OEM systems.

  • Passion for coffee, with deep knowledge of sourcing, roasting, and sustainability best practices.
