SEEKING A ROLE AS: Director or Vice President of Supply Chain or Procurement of a small or mid-sized food company, with customers in retail or foodservice. Very strong in data analysis and strategic planning.

Would welcome the opportunity to step into a COO role for a smaller company because he has experience overseeing Operations and Supply Chain as well as establishing departmental operations from scratch and putting processes and best practices in place.

IN LOCATION: Currently living in Minneapolis, MN — open to relocation, ideally in the Midwest (MN, WI, IA, IL, SD, KS, MO). Open to heavy travel % as well, having traveled to facilities for past roles. Other relocation options considered on a case-by-case basis.

SKILLS & ACHIEVEMENTS:
– 10 years of experience in the food industry, including procurement and supply chain management as well as operations and quality leadership for refrigerated food products and other food ingredients.
– Managed team of 2 plant managers, 1 supply chain manager, plus 35 in operations in most recent start-up environment. Responsibility for Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality, Board presentations, strategic plan, etc.. Hit a $15 million run rate. (Awarded vegan product of the year in 2024 at Food Expo West.) Put lean manufacturing processes in place, distribution network for Whole Foods retail, influential in converting product to a viable CPG item.
– Previously at an $85 million food ingredient operation with 2 manufacturing plants, managed 4 employees directly including 2 Buyers, 2 Production Planners, and 1 in Warehouse Manager. Responsible for all inventory management, supply chain planning and logistics for the two plants plus one co-manufacturer.
– Earlier he grew his role from Director of Sourcing with 2 Buyers at a $210 million plant with oversight for supply chain and inventory management, warehouse and distribution strategy—to a Director of Operations and Supply Chain for a $65 million division with 120 employees—followed by growth to a Director of Strategic Sourcing where he built the department from scratch to 4 direct reports, with $2.2 billion revenue, about $1 billion spend, for 8 manufacturing locations. Responsible for sourcing department with all the Buyers, logistics, inventory management, MRO spend, procurement and contract negotiations.

EDUCATION: MBA from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN and a BS in Economics and Business Administration from Winona State University

COMPENSATION: Base salary expectation dependent on location and scope of responsibilities but in the $175,000 -$225,000 range plus incentives. Open to contract work as well.
