Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor in the meat industry. They are committed to providing high-quality, nutritious food products and are currently revamping their entire accounting department to bring finance functions in-house, supporting their growth and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:
As the Director of Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in leading the company’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and strengthening internal controls. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for managing the month-end close, overseeing audits, and developing a high-performing accounting team. You will collaborate closely with senior management and internal teams to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.

  • Lead and oversee the entire accounting function, including month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Manage internal controls, risk mitigation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff, including future reports such as an Assistant Controller.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
  • Maintain and optimize the General Ledger system (Canopy) and Chart of Accounts.
  • Provide accurate financial analysis and reports to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership roles.
  • Expertise in GAAP financial reporting, internal controls, and audit management.
  • Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, including GL and system implementations.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with discretion and professionalism.
