What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, optimizing, and implementing fluid and thermal process systems tailored for the food and beverage industry. Your expertise will drive project success from initial concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovative projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Develop and interpret process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and perform mass/energy balances.
- Design and layout fluid process systems and mechanical solutions using SolidWorks 3D to meet customer needs.
- Size and specify process equipment such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers, CIP systems, pasteurizers, and filtration units.
- Lead process engineering activities for projects from concept through commissioning, including BOM, assembly drawings, and on-site installation support.
- Prepare RFQs, performance specifications, and evaluate vendors to ensure proper equipment selection.
- Evaluate existing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, yield improvement, and cost reduction.
Qualifications You Have:
- BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in process engineering within food & beverage or dairy systems.
- Strong knowledge of heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal processes.
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Familiarity with CIP systems, pasteurization, and hygienic design principles.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with knowledge of regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, 3-A).
