Kinsa is recruiting for a: National Sales Manager (confectionery)

Location: Remote (USA)

Summary:
Our client is a privately held confectionery manufacturer with more than 40 years of heritage in the candy industry.  The company manages customer relationships, product development, commercial strategy, and brand ownership for a diverse portfolio of confectionery products, while manufacturing operations are handled through its wholly owned subsidiary in Mexico. To support this next phase of growth, they are looking to hire a National Sales Manager.

What Our Client Offers You

  • $125,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience plus bonus/commissions
  • 100% employer-paid employee medical premiums with Day 1 eligibility
  • 401(k) with 6% company match and immediate vesting
  • Dental and vision coverage with company contribution

What You’ll Do
As the National Sales Manager, you will drive net-new business development while helping strengthen and expand profitable legacy confectionery sales across retail, wholesale, foodservice, and specialty channels. This role serves as a key commercial bridge between the company’s established confectionery foundation and its long-term next-generation growth strategy.

This is a highly entrepreneurial individual contributor role reporting directly to the CEO. You will own the full sales cycle while helping build commercial infrastructure and processes from the ground up.

In addition:

  1. Develop and execute outbound sales strategies to open new accounts and expand revenue within existing customers
  2. Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, sampling, pricing, negotiating, closing, and ongoing account stewardship
  3. Collaborate directly with executive leadership on pricing strategy, product positioning, and commercial priorities
  4. Build and maintain pipeline tracking, account documentation, and foundational sales processes without relying on an established CRM or internal sales support structure
  5. Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events
  6. Help position the organization for long-term growth across both legacy confectionery and emerging better-for-you product categories

Qualifications You Bring

  • 5+ years of B2B CPG sales experience; food and beverage experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success opening net-new accounts rather than solely managing inherited business
  • Experience selling into retail buyers, wholesale distributors, foodservice operators, or specialty channels
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Comfortable operating independently in an entrepreneurial environment with limited existing infrastructure
  • Ability to manage scheduling, customer follow-through, pipeline management, and account documentation independently
  • Comfortable communicating a cross-border manufacturing and supply chain story to customers and prospects
  • Willingness to travel for trade shows, customer visits, and periodic meetings
