Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Head Meat Cutter / General Manager to lead daily operations of a respected Wyoming meat processing facility specializing in beef fabrication, custom processing, smoked products, and seasonal wild game processing. This hands-on leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee all aspects of production while preserving the craftsmanship and customer service that have made the operation a trusted resource for ranchers, hunters, and local customers.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished meat cutter and people leader who enjoys working across a variety of products and processing styles, from beef fabrication to specialty game processing. This individual will play a key role in maintaining product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction while partnering with ownership to support future growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10 employees.
  • Oversee all aspects of beef fabrication from rail to final packaging.
  • Manage daily production activities, processing approximately five head of cattle per day.
  • Coordinate custom cutting and packaging specifications for customers.
  • Oversee seasonal wild game processing operations, ensuring quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the production of smoked meats and specialty products.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Manage workflow, staffing, and scheduling to maximize efficiency and product quality.
  • Monitor equipment condition and coordinate preventative maintenance activities.
  • Partner with ownership to identify operational improvements and support long-term business goals.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in meat processing, beef fabrication, or butchery operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in beef fabrication from rail to finished cuts.
  • Previous supervisory, management, or team leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with custom processing, smoked products, or wild game processing is highly preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a hands-on leadership role and lead by example.
  • Willingness to relocate to and become part of a rural Wyoming community.
