Location: Irving, TX (Onsite, with relocation)

They are looking to add a Commercialization Manager to their R&D team in their office in Irving, TX. You will bridge the gap between culinary, creativity and large-scale manufacturing. Partnering with the culinary team, you will refine benchtop recipes and lead scale-up processes to bring new food products to market. You will be the critical link between ideation, operations, and the consumer — ensuring that what’s crafted in the kitchen translates seamlessly to the production floor.

  • Relevant degree. 6+ years of food R&D, 3+ years in a management role. Excellent commercialization experience. No sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

  • Partner with culinary teams, corporate functions, plant operations, and co-manufacturers to commercialize products from benchtop through launch. Translate culinary intent into standardized, scalable formulations while preserving flavor, texture, quality, and commercial viability.
  • Document and refine benchtop formulas, ingredient ratios, raw material options, processing methods, specifications, SOPs, and process flow diagrams.
  • Engage co-manufacturers early to assess capabilities, align on formulation and equipment constraints, and design recipes for successful production.
  • Lead product evaluations, plant trials, and pilot runs; capture notes, approvals, and troubleshoot scale-up challenges in real time.
  • Validate manufacturing processes, resolve bench-to-production bottlenecks, and ensure production targets and food safety standards, including HACCP and GMP, are met.
  • Manage multiple commercialization projects, maintain launch readiness checklists, track timelines, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Support packaging, labeling, product copy, heating instructions, product descriptions, and claim substantiation in partnership with regulatory and design teams.

Competencies Needed for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in food product commercialization, R&D, or process engineering within the food industry, including hands-on work in or with manufacturing plants and co-manufacturers.
  • Proven success scaling food products from benchtop or pilot stage to full commercial production.
  • Strong understanding of food science principles, ingredient functionality, processing technologies, food safety requirements, and manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple launches and translate technical concepts for culinary, plant, and cross-functional partners.
  • Self-directed, collaborative, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to anticipate obstacles, solve problems, earn trust across departments, and adapt quickly in a fast-moving CPG environment.
