Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Manager
Location: Lubbock, TX

5+ years of FSQA leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment required; SQF-certified facility experience strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:
$120,000- $150,000 base salary

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Food Safety & Quality team while fostering a strong food safety culture.
  • Serve as the SQF Practitioner and maintain compliance with SQF, FDA, HACCP, FSMA, and company standards.
  • Drive customer complaint investigations, corrective actions, CAPA programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage internal, supplier, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring successful outcomes and timely resolution of findings.
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, pathogen control programs, and quarantine inventory disposition.
  • Partner with operations, sanitation, and leadership teams to improve quality performance, reduce risk, and maintain audit readiness.

Competencies Needed for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of FSQA experience, including 3+ years as supervisor or manager in a food processing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GFSI/SQF programs, food microbiology, and preventive controls.
  • Experience leading SQF certification audits and interacting with regulatory agencies and customers.
  • Proven root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Confident decision-maker with strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
