SEEKING A ROLE AS: Senior Category Manager or corporate procurement/merchandising leader. Also open to private label product development and brand management opportunities with retailers, wholesalers, brokers, or CPG companies.
IN LOCATION: Cranberry Township, PA (Pittsburgh area). Not open to relocation. Open to local onsite or hybrid opportunities and remote roles. Comfortable with daily regional travel and approximately 20–25% overnight travel, depending on frequency and scheduling.
SKILLS & ACHIEVEMENTS:
An accomplished food retail professional with 20+ years of progressive experience spanning senior category management, procurement, private label development, and store leadership. Brings deep expertise in fresh and frozen proteins, dairy, supplier negotiations, assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and margin optimization. Seeking a return to corporate leadership after transitioning into store operations to support company needs during the pandemic.
– Managed approximately $328M in annual beef, veal, and lamb category sales and $220M across poultry and pork
– Directed dairy procurement and merchandising for categories representing approximately $300M in annual sales, working with 50+ suppliers
– Launched 150+ private label products across meat, seafood, and produce, including organic chicken, frozen seafood, and packaged produce
– Developed the premium Market District private label brand and helped grow the natural/organic Nature’s Basket portfolio; managed a brand and packaging redesign covering nearly 10,000 items
– Experienced in domestic and international sourcing, commodity cost analysis, vendor contract negotiations, promotional forecasting, and shrink management
– Adds hands-on store leadership experience overseeing sales, margins, labor, employee development, food safety, and operations during multimillion-dollar remodels

COMPENSATION:
Targeting approximately $145,000 base plus incentives. Flexible based on the overall opportunity, benefits, responsibilities, and work/life balance.
