Director of Design

Kinsa is recruiting for a: Director of Architectural Design (Hospitality, Restaurant)

Location: Remote – USA

Summary:
Our client is looking for an Architectural Design Director with expertise in restaurants, hospitality environments, design development, and customer experience (CX) to lead projects within our design practice. In this role, you will translate brand, operational, and customer experience inspiration into clear, buildable spatial solutions, developing BOH and FOH floorplans, high-quality 3D renderings and design sets. You’ll coordinate with strategy, culinary, operations and design teams – contributing original design concepts while following direction from senior leadership, cross-functional inputs, and client feedback into cohesive, high-quality design outcomes. You will support client-facing engagements on assigned projects and serve as a design lead on specific projects. 

Compensation & Benefits:

• 125-150K (plus bonus)

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, interior design, or a closely related field – required
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in architectural design – required
• Demonstrated portfolio of hospitality projects spanning concept through completion – required 
• Experience working directly with clients in a consultancy or in-house environment – required 
• Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring a design team in a consultancy, in-house, or studio environment – a plus
• SketchUp – proficient; able to build detailed 3D models and produce walk-through presentation
• AutoCAD – proficient; able to produce precise BOH and FOH floor plans, elevations, and schedules
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) – proficient for presentation and visual storytelling
• Revit or other BIM platforms – a plus
