Location: West Coast or Midwest
A leading fresh produce company is seeking a VPt of Sales & Business Development to drive profitable revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen strategic customer relationships across North America. This executive leadership role partners closely with ownership to develop and execute growth strategies while building new business, expanding existing accounts, and leading commercial initiatives within the fresh produce industry.
Compensation/Benefits:
- $150,000 – $200,000 base salary

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Develop and execute sales and business development strategies that drive profitable revenue growth and market expansion.
- Build, develop, and strengthen relationships with retailers, wholesalers, foodservice operators, distributors, and other strategic customers.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while increasing penetration within existing customer accounts.
- Lead negotiations for key customer agreements and represent the company at customer meetings and industry events.
- Partner cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, logistics, and finance to support customer success and profitable growth.
- Provide market intelligence on customer trends, competitive activity, pricing, and emerging opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
- Mentor and support the sales organization by establishing performance expectations, accountability, and a results-driven culture.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- 10+ years of sales and business development experience within the fresh produce industry.
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and developing strategic customer relationships.
- Established network of produce buyers, retailers, wholesalers, foodservice operators, and industry decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of produce sourcing, distribution, supply chain, and logistics.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with executive-level presence.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop strategy and execute with urgency and accountability.
