Kinsa is recruiting for a: Senior Food Technologist

Location: Greater Pennsylvania Area

Join a growing, innovation-focused food manufacturer with a strong reputation for developing premium bakery, dessert, and foodservice products. This newly created role was added to support continued business growth and expansion into new product categories, making it an exciting opportunity to contribute to both product innovation and process improvement initiatives.

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing R&D required; hands-on baking, pastry, frozen bakery, or dessert product development experience strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $80,000-$85,000 base salary plus 10% bonus opportunity

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

• Lead benchtop trials focused on improving formulations, processes, and product performance.
• Evaluate ingredient alternatives and support cost optimization initiatives.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, and Purchasing to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges.
• Support new product development through testing, evaluations, and customer samples.
• Maintain accurate formulas, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Assist with shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations, and continuous improvement efforts.

Competencies Needed for Success:

• 2-4 years of food manufacturing or product development experience.
• Hands-on baking, pastry, or test kitchen experience.
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and formulation science.
• Experience with bakery, frozen bakery, dessert, confectionery, or related food categories.
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to learn.
